Dunja Kostić is a scenographer based in Belgrade. She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Scenography from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade and began her Ph.D. studies in Drama at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, in 2018. Since 2015, she has been actively working as a scenographer, collaborating with leading theatres in Serbia and the region on numerous critically acclaimed and award-winning productions. A significant part of her professional career has been linked to the National Theatre in Belgrade.

Her selected theatre works include At Dawn, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Orpheus and Eurydice (National Theatre in Belgrade); Travelling Troupe Šopalović (National Theatre in Niš); Ubu Roi (National Theatre in Pirot); Tre Sorelle (Music Centre Podgorica); and Arabian Nights, The Badger on Trial, and Good Luck, Adi (National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska).

Her work has received significant professional recognition. The staging concept for Benjamin Britten’s opera The Turn of the Screw was shortlisted for the semi-finals of the European Opera-Directing Prize (EOP), ranking among the top ten selected projects. She also designed the scenography for the Opening Ceremony of the European Capital of Culture at the Serbian National Theatre.

In addition to theatre, Dunja works across various formats, designing scenography for video and event productions, as well as artistic and spatial installations.
